Softcover. Crime Detection & Prevention Series Paper 59. Barry Webb, Police Research Group. Burglary, especially domestic burglary had become an increasing source of concern to the police and to the public, both in London and in the shire counties. This led to police forces adopting a variety of strategies for combating burglary and this report describes an evaluation of three such strategies. Operation Bumblebee, adopted by the Metropolitan Police Service, was a high profile anti-burglary strategy. Operation Gemini, introduced by Gloucestershire Constabulary, was directed at both burglary and motor-vehicle crime and some of its features were similar to those of Operation Bumblebee. Hampshire Constabulary had not adopted a high profile strategy for dealing with burglary, but had implemented organisation and procedural changes which were designed to affect its response to burglary and other crime. With List of Tables, List of Figures, References + PRG Research Papers. 71pp. 4to. softcover. Nr. F. with no creasing to covers.
