Paperback, SIGNED. A booklet on the English provincial press reporting of the unsolved Whitechapel murders (Jack the Ripper). It gives some background historical information on the English provincial press, the New Journalism, and crime reporting. It then looks at features of the English provincial press reporting which differed from the London press reporting. The author quotes extensively and sometimes at length, from the press reports, partly so as to appeal to Ripperologists who may not be so interested in press history. There are 6 b/w illustrations, and 37 text pages + 10pp. covering Contents, Acknowledgements and Preface etc. Booklet LIMITED to 100 copies and SIGNED BY STAWELL HEARD. From the library of Paul Daniel, ex-editor of the 'Ripperologist' magazine (December 1996 No. 8 - February 2000 No. 27), with a tipped-in post-it note written by Paul to bep. V. lightly sunned covers o/w Nr. F. with no creasing. Scarce.
